Alisa Vekeman is a member of the international data flows and protection unit of the European Commission, where she leads the work on transatlantic data flows. She also works on the modernisation of the standard contractual clauses, the adequacy talks with South Korea and existing adequacy decisions. Prior to joining the European Commission, Alisa Vekeman worked for the EU Delegation to the Council of Europe, where she followed the negotiations on the modernised Council of Europe Convention 108. She holds degrees in law and human rights.
