KRYNICA-ZDRÓJ

KRYNICA-ZDRÓJ

The history of Krynica-Zdrój, the Pearl of Polish Spas, can be traced back to 1793. In the interwar period, Krynica became a prestigious resort on a European scale and the love which Jan Kiepura and Nikifor Krynicki felt for the spa undoubtedly added to the fame it enjoyed. In 1997, the first gondola lift in Poland (to Jaworzyna Krynicka) was set up here, as was the then state-of-the-art ski centre. The investment blazed the trail for building many exclusive high-class establishments. At that moment, the health resort medicinal offer was complemented by opportunities for families with children and for seekers of active leisure. Krynica-Zdrój, surrounded by the forests of the Beskid Sądecki mountain range, with ample springs of mineral and medicinal water, with a wide range of accommodation, is a perfect fit for their needs. The current potential of the Krynica-Zdrój Commune:

  • 8 well-marked MTB bike routes with a combined length of 125 km and elevation differences of over 4 km,

  • 4 enduro trails with a combined length of 10 km,

  • the on-road Velo Krynica trail that joins AquaVelo and EuroVelo 11,

  • 111 km of well-marked mountain hiking trails,

  • 6 ski stations with the joint throughput of 34,000 skiers per hour,

  • cross-country skiing trails.
